On my way south from Fairbanks to Anchorage, I found my jaw dropping at each turn of the road. The mountains along Route 3, including those of Denali National Park and Preserve, were breathtaking, with their rocky peaks jutting upward, and snow-covered forests of Sitka spruce lining their flanks.
